Hello everyone, it’s Sam here. I want to share some exciting news with you about a new chapter in my journey. Over the past several years, PTSD Jedi has been a space where I’ve shared my thoughts, experiences, and insights on various topics, especially those related to mental health and PTSD. Your support has been incredible, and it has been invaluable to my recovery.

Yesterday, I received a clear diagnosis from my CT scan, a moment that has given me a renewed sense of purpose and determination. Coming home from that appointment, I realized that I want to make the most significant impact I can with the time I have. This clarity has led me to create PTSD Ronin, a new platform that will focus on providing a supportive and engaging community for individuals affected by PTSD. This decision comes from a place of growth and a desire to better serve a community with focused content and resources.

Why PTSD Ronin?

As many of you know, I’ve been a lifelong fan of Star Wars. The concept of a Jedi resonated deeply with me as a child, symbolizing strength, wisdom, and resilience. However, as I’ve grown older and the dynamics around the Star Wars fandom have evolved, I’ve noticed an increasing amount of negativity and toxicity online. This is not something I want associated with my mission.

Moreover, while the name “PTSD Jedi” has served me well, I’ve realized that it might not fully capture the unique journey and experiences I want to share with you. Given my strong connection to Japan and the unique memories of my life spent in Kyoto, I’ve decided to transition to a name that reflects my personal story and multi-cultural background more authentically.

The Meaning Behind Ronin

A Ronin is a samurai without a master, often seen wandering and facing societal stigma. This concept resonates deeply with me, as it parallels the journey many of us undertake when dealing with PTSD. We navigate our challenges with strength and independence, often feeling like wanderers in our own lives. Embracing the identity of a Ronin aligns perfectly with my mission of resilience and self-discovery.

What to Expect from PTSD Ronin

PTSD Ronin will be a platform dedicated to providing mental health support, resources, and a sense of community for those affected by PTSD. Here’s what you can expect from me:

  • Focused Content: I will try to offer professional and community-driven content, including mental health tips, personal stories, and educational resources. My goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge to manage PTSD effectively.
  • Community Engagement: PTSD Ronin will be a place where you can connect with others who understand your journey. I aim to foster a supportive environment where you can share your experiences, offer support, and find comfort in knowing you’re not alone.
  • Resource Hub: In addition to community support, PTSD Ronin will serve as a resource hub, providing valuable tools and information to help you navigate your journey with PTSD.
  • Early Access and Feedback: As I develop PTSD Ronin, I invite you to join me on this journey. Think of it as early access to what I’m creating. Your feedback and participation will help shape a platform that best serves our needs.

Maintaining PTSD Jedi

While PTSD Ronin will be the new community hub, PTSD Jedi will remain active as my personal outlet. Here, I’ll continue to share my thoughts on a wide range of topics, from politics and economics to personal reflections and broader societal issues. This space will allow me to explore various subjects and engage with you in a more personal and diverse manner.

Join Me on This New Journey

I’m incredibly excited about this transition and the opportunities it brings. PTSD Ronin represents a new chapter in my journey, one that is deeply personal and rooted in resilience. With my clear CT scan giving me a renewed sense of purpose, I am more determined than ever to make a meaningful impact. I invite you to join me on this path as we grow together.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community. Your support means the world to me, and I look forward to seeing you on PTSD Ronin.

Stay strong and stay connected,

Sam
